Dipto said he left the room in the morning and saw Abid was normal at that time. Around 1pm, Abid’s elder brother Jahid Hasan called him and said Abid was not answering calls and asked him to check. He then went to the mess and found Abid unconscious on the bed. After repeated attempts to wake him failed, he rushed him to Dhaka Medical College Hospital, where doctors declared him dead. He said Abid had high blood pressure and regularly took medication.

Abid’s elder brother Jahid Hasan said their home is in Palashpara village under Sadar upazila of Chuadanga. Their father is Ahsan Habib. Abid was the younger of two brothers.

“I used to call him two to three times every day. I spoke to him in the morning today as well. Later in the afternoon, I could not reach him despite several attempts. I then informed his friend Dipto. Later I came to the hospital and learned he was no more. He had high blood pressure and took regular medication. I still cannot understand how he died,” Jahid Hasan explained.

Dhaka Medical College Hospital police camp in-charge Inspector Md Faruk confirmed the death based on doctors’ statement. He said the body has been kept in the hospital morgue and Shahbagh Police Station has been informed.
