A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed on Tuesday between the Bangladesh Bridge Authority (BBA) and Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) to transform the unused spaces beneath the Dhaka Elevated Expressway into green and vibrant areas and to create safe and attractive public spaces for city residents.

The signing ceremony took place at the conference room of the Bangladesh Bridge Authority, with Secretary of the Bridge Division and Executive Director Mohammad Abdur Rouf presiding over the event.

DNCC Administrator Mohammad Ejaz attended the ceremony as the chief guest, reads a press release.

Director Altaf Hossain Sheikh signed the MoU for the Bangladesh Bridge Authority, and Chief Executive Officer Mohammad Asaduzzaman signed it for DNCC.

According to the agreement, DNCC will implement greening, landscaping, pedestrian-friendly infrastructure, and public recreational facilities in the unused spaces beneath the Dhaka Elevated Expressway.

The initiative aims to create new, vibrant public areas for city dwellers, enhancing environmental balance while adding aesthetic value to urban life.

Officials from both DNCC and the Bangladesh Bridge Authority were present at the ceremony.
