A group of individual and corporate directors of Prime Bank PLC have disclosed their intention to purchase a combined 1.018 crore shares through the block market of Dhaka Stock Exchange PLC (DSE) at prevailing market prices within the next 30 working days.
According to the disclosures, director S M Tamjid intends to buy 9.71 lakh shares, Nafis Sikder 12.17 lakh shares, and Tanveer A Chowdhury 9.71 lakh shares.
Among corporate directors, MJL Bangladesh PLC will acquire 19.47 lakh shares, while Uniglory Cycle Industries Limited plans to buy 9.79 lakh shares. EC Holdings Limited has expressed intention to purchase 11.61 lakh shares.
Sponsor directors have also disclosed acquisition plans. Md Shahadat Hossain intends to buy 9.72 lakh shares, while Quazi Shirajul Islam plans to acquire 9.72 lakh shares. Azam J Chowdhury will purchase 9.90 lakh shares.
Based on the closing price of Tk 30.30 on Wednesday, the planned acquisitions are valued at around Tk 30.8 crore.
All proposed transactions will be executed through the DSE block market at prevailing market prices within 30 working days, according to disclosures filed with the exchange.
The bank on Wednesday reported that Credit Rating Agency of Bangladesh has assigned it a long-term surveillance rating of AAA, with an ST-1 short-term rating, indicating the highest credit quality.
