Direction Technology (Bangladesh) Co Limited, a Chinese-owned company, will establish a manufacturing facility in the Chattogram Export Processing Zone (CEPZ) to produce Bluetooth headphones, wired headphones, and data cables.

The company has committed to an investment of US$ 3 million, with plans to create 478 jobs for Bangladeshi nationals. The agreement was finalized on Tuesday when BEPZA Member (Investment Promotion) Md Ashraful Kabir and Direction Technology (Bangladesh) Managing Director Li Fanfan signed the contract in the presence of BEPZA Executive Chairman Major General Abul Kalam Mohammad Ziaur Rahman.

This investment is a significant move toward diversifying Bangladesh’s industrial base, moving beyond traditional apparel and textiles. It will add a new dimension to BEPZA’s export basket by introducing electronics manufacturing to the Chattogram EPZ.

Major General Abul Kalam Mohammad Ziaur Rahman welcomed the company, noting that while Bangladesh is known for its strength in the apparel sector, BEPZA is equally committed to encouraging diversified industries. He assured the company of BEPZA’s full support and stressed the importance of maintaining compliance in its operations.

The signing ceremony was attended by several senior BEPZA officials, including BEPZA Member (Engineering) Abdullah Al Mamun, BEPZA Member (Finance) ANM Foyzul Haque, BEPZA Executive Director (Investment Promotion) Md Tanvir Hossain, BEPZA Executive Director (Enterprise Services) Md Khorshid Alam, and BEPZA Executive Director (Public Relations) ASM Anwar Parvez.
