Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has predicted rain with thunder for Dhaka and its surrounding areas.
According to a message signed by Meteorologist Md Tariful Newaz Kabir, Dhaka’s sky may remain partly cloudy until noon on Monday. Rain or thunderstorms are also likely in Dhaka and its adjacent regions, while the day temperature is projected to stay steady.
The notification stated that winds in Dhaka might blow from the south-west or south at speeds of 10 to 15 kilometres per hour, with temporary gusts potentially reaching 30 to 40 kilometres per hour.
It also noted that slight rain was recorded in Dhaka and its surrounding areas over the last 24 hours.
Moreover, another notification from BMD indicated a forecast for temporary gusty or squally winds and rain or thunderstorms with lightning across all divisions of the country until 6pm on Monday.
Hailstorms may also occur in some locations. This trend of thundery rainfall is likely to persist for the next few days.
