A Bangladeshi woman injured in a blaze at a hotel in south Delhi’s Malviya Nagar has died during treatment, taking the death toll in the tragedy to 23, officials said Wednesday, PTI reports.
Police said the woman had sustained severe burns and was undergoing treatment at a hospital.
“Unfortunately, one more person has died during treatment. The total toll now stands at 23. The deceased was a Bangladeshi female national and passed away today,” Deputy Commissioner of Police (South) Anant Mittal said in a statement.
The fire tore through Flourish Stays Bed and Breakfast in Hauz Rani on 4 June, killing 21 people and injuring several others.
Last week, the toll rose to 22 after a Nigerian national being treated for severe burns died at a hospital.
