The Bangladesh High Commission in New Delhi has expressed deep sorrow over the tragic fire in Malviya Nagar that left several Bangladeshis injured.
In a statement on Thursday, the high commission conveyed condolences to all victims and their families.
According to the latest information from Indian officials, eight Bangladeshis were injured, three of them critically. Citizens of other countries were also among the casualties.
Immediately after the accident, the high commission established close coordination with Indian authorities to identify affected Bangladeshi nationals and provide necessary assistance.
Indian authorities reported nine Indian nationals killed and three injured. In addition, two Mozambicans, one Liberian, four Nigerians and one Uzbek citizen died.
The injured include two each from Nepal, Cameroon, Kenya and Kyrgyzstan, three Liberians, one Nigerian and three Kazakhs. In total, 21 people were killed and 28 injured in the blaze.
Indian officials have admitted the injured Bangladeshis to hospitals across Delhi and are providing treatment. The High Commission said it is closely monitoring their condition.
Hospital authorities have advised relatives and visitors to avoid direct physical contact with patients to reduce infection risks and aid recovery. The High Commission urged all concerned to strictly follow this guidance.
The mission requested prayers from the people of Bangladesh for the swift recovery of the injured and reaffirmed its commitment to stand by affected nationals and provide all necessary support during this crisis.
