Defence lawyer M Sarwar Hossain will not conduct the legal battle on behalf of the 15 military officers facing trial at the International Crimes Tribunal.
The lawyer informed BBC Bangla of this decision on Thursday.
The Supreme Court lawyer said that among the fifteen military officers he had taken up the legal fight for, he had previously filed a complaint against one of them.
He stated, “I had previously filed a complaint of enforced disappearance against three military officers. One of these fifteen individuals is among them. This is the reason I have withdrawn myself from the legal proceedings of this case.”
However, last Wednesday, former military officer and lawyer M Sarwar Hossain had participated in the hearing at the International Crimes Tribunal-1 on behalf of the military officers.
