A Jubo Dal activist named Jane Alam Sikdar has been killed by masked gunmen in Raozan, Chattogram. The incident occurred in the Purba Gujra union of the upazila around 8:15pm on Monday.
The injured Jane Alam was a follower of BNP’s central vice chairman (suspended) Gias Kader Chowdhury.
Additional Superintendent of Police of Rangunia Circle, Mohammad Belayet Hossain, told TIMES of Bangladesh, “Three masked individuals arrived on a motorcycle and shot Jane Alam Sikdar before fleeing. He was rescued in an injured state and taken to Evercare Hospital. I heard he died on the way to the hospital.”
He added, “Since the incident, we, including the Officer-in-Charge of Rauzan, have been at the scene.”
On a Facebook live video, while taking Jane Alam to the hospital, a person said several miscreants shot him and fled. He has been shot twice in the chest.
