A Dhaka court on Wednesday acquitted cricketer Nasir Hossain and his wife Tamima Sultana in a case filed over allegations of adultery and fraud.
Dhaka Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Jashita Islam delivered the verdict in the presence of the couple at a packed courtroom at 12:12 pm.

Earlier on 6 May, the court fixed June 10 for the verdict after concluding arguments from both the prosecution and defence.
On 9 February, 2022, the court framed charges against Nasir and Tamima, while Tamima’s mother, Sumi Akter, was discharged from the case as the court did not find any allegation against her.
According to the complaint, Tamima married Rakib Hasan on 26 February, 2011, and the couple has a daughter.
Rakib later came to know about Tamima’s marriage to Nasir after photographs of their wedding surfaced on social media on 14 February, 2021.
The complainant alleged that Tamima married Nasir while her marriage to Rakib was still legally valid, rendering the subsequent marriage unlawful.
The case also alleged that Nasir had induced Tamima to leave her previous marital relationship.
Rakib Hasan filed the case with a Dhaka metropolitan magistrate’s court on 24 February, 2021.
