A court has ordered confiscation of investments in 7 Thai companies made by the three children of late Zainul Haque Sikder, a National Bank former chair.

Dhaka Metropolitan Court’s Senior Special Judge Sabbir Faiz issued the order on Monday. The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) filed the petition through Assistant Director Md Ashiqur Rahman.

Zainul’s three children are Ron Haque Sikder, Rick Haque Sikder, and Parveen Haque Sikder. According to the petition, they hold investments worth 893 million Thai Baht across 7 companies in Thailand.

The ACC stated in its petition that a seven-member investigation team is probing allegations related to the Sikder Group.

During the investigation, reliable sources revealed that the accused are attempting to transfer their movable and immovable assets.

If they succeed, the ongoing investigation could face obstructions.
