A construction worker was killed after a boundary wall collapsed during drain construction work in Chapainawabganj municipality on Sunday.
The victim was identified as 26-year-old Nairul Islam, son of the late Saiful Islam from Arunbari Behula village under Gobratola union in Chapainawabganj Sadar upazila.
The incident occurred around 11am near the Dhaka bus stand in the Courtpara area of the municipality.
Witnesses said the worker was engaged in drain construction when a boundary wall of a nearby house suddenly collapsed on him.
He sustained severe injuries and died on the spot, they said.
Chapainawabganj Sadar Model Police Station Officer-in-Charge Nure Alam said police recovered the body after receiving information and sent it to Chapainawabganj District Hospital morgue.
Legal procedures in connection with the incident are under way, he added.
