Senior Joint Secretary General of BNP Ruhul Kabir Rizvi has stated that a conspiracy is underway to remove BNP from the political arena, similar to the 1/11 plot.
He said, “Since 5 August, a vicious propaganda campaign has been launched against BNP. At the very time we are supposed to carry out organisational activities, many have targeted BNP. We can compare this to the 1/11 plot.”
He made these allegations while speaking at an event at the party’s central office in Naya Paltan, Dhaka, on Monday.
Rizvi further added, “National and international conspiracies have not stopped. Attempts may be made to create sabotage and unpleasant incidents surrounding the Durga Puja.”
At this time, he instructed party leaders and activists to take on the role of guards at puja pavilions to ensure the security of the Hindu community.
The BNP leader alleged, “Even during the interim government’s time, government officials who were once associated with Chhatra Dal politics were placed on OSD (Off-Service Duty).”
