Closet Cloud is built on a simple but powerful idea that fashion is not just about clothing, but about identity, confidence, and self-expression. Through carefully curated collections and boutique experiences, the brand creates a space where women feel seen, valued, and unapologetically themselves.
At the centre of this vision is Sabiha Zaman, who sees fashion as an emotional experience rather than a transactional one. For her, it is about discovery and connection.
“I was inspired by the idea of giving women the same excitement I feel when I find something truly special, whether it’s a handcrafted outfit, a designer label, a statement piece of jewellery, or a boutique-style experience,” she said.
From the outset, her goal was not simply to sell fashion but to build access. She wanted Bangladeshi women to experience global ethnic fashion without losing authenticity or quality.
Over time, that vision expanded into something more layered, a community where style becomes personal language, and every piece reflects individuality rather than imitation.
What distinguishes Sabiha’s journey is how it reframes entrepreneurship through lived experience. In a highly competitive and fast-changing industry, building something lasting requires more than ambition. It demands clarity, resilience, and a deep sense of direction.
“Back in 2016, when traditional clothing brands were yet to embrace this vision, Closet Cloud had already set a new benchmark,” she recalled. What began as a digital-first platform has now grown into a network of multi-brand flagship stores, marking a transition from online presence to physical experience.
Yet, like every journey, especially those led by women, Sabiha’s path was far from smooth. Challenges came in several phases for Closet Cloud, but the COVID-19 pandemic was particularly testing. As operations slowed and uncertainty loomed, maintaining momentum became difficult.
But rather than stepping back, the response was one of reinvention. New strategies were explored, digital connections were strengthened, and the brand continued to engage with its audience in meaningful ways.
She added, “Due to a false copyright claim, Facebook suddenly removed our most-followed social media channel, along with my personal profile and my team members’ accounts. This didn’t happen just once; we lost access to our platform several times afterwards.
For a digital-first brand, losing our main platform was devastating and felt like years of hard work had vanished overnight.” Many would have seen this as the end. But for Sabiha, it became a moment of transformation.
Rebuilding from scratch required courage, patience, and an unwavering belief in the brand’s purpose. It meant starting over in an environment that offers no guarantees. But this strength is precisely what defines women entrepreneurs: the ability to rise, rebuild, and come back stronger.
Today, what sets Closet Cloud apart is not just its hand-picked collections, but the experience it creates. Its boutique-style stores offer more than retail; they offer a sense of belonging.
“Customers are not just buyers here,” Sabiha explained. “They are part of a larger narrative.” Through personalised styling and a focus on originality, the brand builds confidence into every interaction, turning fashion into a more intimate exchange.
With expansions such as Closet Cloud Kids and Closet Cloud Beauty & Fragrance, the brand is gradually evolving into a lifestyle ecosystem. Each extension reflects a different layer of women’s lives, acknowledging their multiple roles as professionals, creators, caregivers, and individuals with evolving identities.
Growth at this scale brings complexity. Sourcing exclusive pieces from global markets requires careful coordination, strong relationships, and consistent quality control. For Sabiha, however, decision-making remains rooted in clarity.
“I believe the key to balancing risks as an entrepreneur is clarity, preparation, and instinct,” she said. Every choice is informed by research, customer insight, and a long-term view of sustainability. At the same time, experimentation remains essential because not every idea works, but every attempt brings learning.
Behind Closet Cloud’s expansion is also a strong emphasis on teamwork and shared vision. Looking ahead, the brand’s direction is focused on thoughtful growth rather than rapid scale. The aim is to expand reach while preserving its boutique identity.
Equally important is its commitment to impact beyond fashion. Closet Cloud continues to explore ways of creating employment opportunities for women, extending empowerment from style into economic independence.
For Sabiha Zaman, Closet Cloud is ultimately more than a brand. It is a statement of intent that fashion can be meaningful, that businesses can be built with purpose, and that women can create spaces where identity is not defined by trends but discovered through them.
