A man has died in a clash between two cattle traders over tying cattle at an temporary cattle market in Paragram area of Ashulia.
Allegations have also emerged that around Tk5 lakh was stolen from the deceased. However, market authorities claimed he died of a heart attack following an argument.
The incident took place around 1am on Tuesday at the Paragram temporary cattle market in Shimulia union under Ashulia police station area.
The dispute began over tying cattle, which soon escalated into an argument and later turned into a physical clash between two traders.
During the clash, Shahidullah Kaisar, 55, a cattle trader from Mongolbari area of Dhamrai upazila, sustained serious injuries. He was rescued and taken to Dhamrai Upazila Health Complex, where doctors declared him dead.
Relatives of the deceased alleged that around Tk5 lakh carried by him was snatched during the incident.
Market authorities, however, said that he suffered a heart attack during the argument and died on the spot.
Hospital sources said injuries were found on the body of the deceased, raising questions over the incident. Ashulia police are investigating the matter.
