City Bank PLC has signed an agreement with Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation (HSBC) in a ceremony marking the beginning of a new partnership.

The event was held recently at the head office of City Bank, reads a press release.

Under this agreement, City Bank will provide Employee Banking services to HSBC Bangladesh. The collaboration is expected to combine the expertise, resources and innovative capabilities of both organisations.

The signing ceremony was attended by senior officials from both sides.

In the presence of Hossain Khaled, chairman of City Bank, Mashrur Arefin, managing director and CEO of City Bank, and Md Mahbubur Rahman, CEO of HSBC Bangladesh, the agreement was signed on behalf of their respective organisations.

From City Bank PLC, Mohammad Mahbubur Rahman, additional managing director and chief financial officer, Md Ashanur Rahman, chief economist and country business manager, Md Arup Haider, DMD and head of Retail Banking, and Hasan Uddin Ahmed, head of Employee Banking, were also present at the programme, along with senior officials of both organisations.
