Chinese Ambassador to Bangladesh Yao Wen paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister Tarique Rahman on Thursday.
The meeting took place at the Prime Minister’s Office at the National Parliament building.
At the beginning of the meeting, the Chinese envoy congratulated Bangladesh on the election of Foreign Minister Khalilur Rahman as President of the 2026–2027 session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).
Discussions during the meeting focused on further strengthening bilateral relations between Bangladesh and China, with particular emphasis on expanding cooperation in trade, commerce, investment, technical education, and people-to-people exchanges, he added.
Foreign Minister Khalilur Rahman and Prime Minister’s Adviser on Foreign Affairs Humaiun Kobir were also present at the meeting.
