China has urged an immediate halt to military actions in Iran, warning against further escalation and calling for renewed dialogue to safeguard peace and stability in the Middle East.
Lou Qinjian, spokesperson for the fourth session of the 14th National People’s Congress, told reporters on Wednesday that China would continue to act as a responsible major power.
He said Beijing is closely monitoring developments and stressed that Iran’s sovereignty, security, and territorial integrity must be respected.
Lou added that China believes mutual respect and equality among nations—regardless of size—are fundamental principles of history and the UN Charter.
He emphasized that no country has the right to dominate global affairs, dictate the fate of others, or monopolize development advantages, nor should any nation impose its will on the world.
