The Cabinet Committee on Government Purchase (CCGP) on Thursday sanctioned separate proposals for the procurement of refined soybean oil and liquefied natural gas (LNG) with a collective expenditure exceeding Tk2,468 crore.
The authorisation was granted during a committee session convened at the Secretariat, presided over by Finance Minister Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury.
As per the approved measures, the committee endorsed a Ministry of Commerce proposal to acquire two crore litres of refined soybean oil. The procurement, conducted via an international open tender process, is estimated to cost approximately Tk282.57 crore.
PT Trinity Cahya Energy, an Indonesian firm, was named the recommended supplier for the contract, offering oil sourced from Europe and the European Union.
Additionally, the committee greenlit a proposal from the Energy and Mineral Resources Division to purchase three LNG cargoes from the spot market. This acquisition, processed through an international quotation collection, will involve a total outlay of roughly Tk2,186.35 crore.
The scheduled delivery windows for these LNG shipments are 8-9 June, 9-10 June, and 14-15 June 2026. The selected suppliers for these deliveries are Vitol Asia Pte Ltd, Singapore; BP Singapore Pte Ltd; and Gunvor Singapore Pte Ltd, Singapore.
