A case has been filed over killing of Jamaat leader Rezaul Karim in a clash in Sherpur’s Jhenaigati.

The victim’s wife, Marzia, lodged the case with Jhenaigati Police Station on Friday night.

The prime accused in the case is Mahmudul Haque Rubel, BNP candidate for the Sherpur-3 constituency. Along with him, 234 named persons and another 250 unidentified individuals have been accused in the murder case.

However, no arrests have been made so far, police said.

Rezaul, secretary of the Sreebardy upazila unit of Jamaat-e-Islami, was killed in the clash with BNP activists on Wednesday. The clash broke out at the Jhenaigati Upazila Parishad ground during a programme organised by the upazila administration.
