State Minister for Textiles and Jute Md Shariful Alam said the government will establish a business-friendly environment by removing obstacles for entrepreneurs.
He made these remarks during a meeting on Tuesday, following a visit to the Ghorashal PRAN factory (AMCL) in Narsingdi.
He added that the Prime Minister’s primary objectives are to eliminate unemployment, create employment, and revitalise the economy. The government stands with businessmen and will continue to do so. It will not engage in business itself but will instead cooperate with them.
Earlier that morning, after inspecting the closed Co-operative Jute Mill, Shariful said the government is working to restart jute mills under public or private management across the country in accordance with its election manifesto and pledges.
He noted that during the tenure of the previous government, looting occurred under the guise of leasing at the closed jute mills.
Additional Secretary Subrata Sikder, Joint Secretary Hafsa Begum, BJMC Chairman Kabir Uddin Sikder, Deputy Secretary Saiful Islam Azad, and Deputy Secretary Shahadat Hossain Kabir, among other officials were present.
