Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP) has approved a proposed budget of Tk149 crore 33 lakh 62 thousand for the 2026-27 fiscal year at its 18th Annual Senate Meeting, held at the BUP Senate Hall on 30 June. The Senate also approved a revised budget of Tk 143 crore 99 lakh 43 thousand for the 2025-26 fiscal year.
The meeting was presided over by BUP Vice-Chancellor and Senate Chairman Major General Md Mahbub-ul Alam, BSP, ndc, afwc, psc, MPhil, PhD. During the meeting, BUP Treasurer Air Commodore Md Reza Emdad Khan, GUP, BUP, ndc, psc, GD (P), presented the revised budget for 2025-26 and the proposed budget for 2026-27, both of which were unanimously approved following discussion, BUP said in a press release.
Addressing the Senate, Mahbub-ul Alam said that although BUP is a relatively young university, its students, faculty members and researchers have consistently demonstrated excellence.
He said the university community had earned continued national and international recognition through active participation in academic competitions, research activities, seminars, workshops and innovation programmes, further strengthening BUP’s reputation and credibility.
Following the treasurer’s presentation, Senate members unanimously approved the revised budget of Tk 143 crore 99 lakh 43 thousand for the 2025-26 fiscal year and the proposed budget of Tk 149 crore 33 lakh 62 thousand for the 2026-27 fiscal year.
The meeting was attended by Members of Parliament, secretaries from various ministries, senior officers of the Bangladesh Armed Forces and senior officials of Bangladesh University of Professionals.
