Bangladesh University (BU) has launched a six-day admission fair for its Summer Semester at its permanent campus in Adabor, Mohammadpur, aiming to attract prospective students with programme insights and financial incentives.
The fair opened on Sunday 19 April and was inaugurated in the morning by Bangladesh University Vice-Chancellor Professor Md Jahangir Alam.
Senior academic leaders attended the opening, including Faculty of Business Administration and Economics Dean Professor Md Tajul Islam and Faculty of Arts Social Sciences and Law Dean Professor Md Humayun Kabir.
Also present were Department of Business Administration Head Professor Md Muzakkirul Huda, Department of Computer Science and Engineering Head Professor Md Sadiq Iqbal, Department of Sociology Head Professor MM Enamul Aziz, Department of Mathematics Head Umme Kulsum Suma, Department of Architecture Head Sheikh Itmam Soud and Department of Law Head Kazi Latifur Reza, alongside students, faculty members and administrative officials.
The fair allows prospective students across departments to gather detailed information on academic programmes and explore campus facilities.
Students are also able to interact directly with senior faculty members to seek guidance on higher education and career-focused learning.
The university is offering financial incentives to drive admissions.
Students enrolling in the Summer Semester will receive course fee waivers ranging from 10 per cent to 100 per cent, based on their Secondary School Certificate and Higher Secondary Certificate results.
An additional waiver of Tk5,000 to Tk10,000 will be provided for admissions completed during the fair.
The event will run daily from 10am to 4pm and is scheduled to conclude on Friday, 24 April.
