The Institute of Chartered Secretaries of Bangladesh (ICSB) has conferred the ‘Gold Award’ to BRAC Bank at 12th ICSB National Award for Corporate Governance Excellence 2024 in General Banking Category.

Lutfey Siddiqi, special envoy to the chief adviser on International Affairs, formally handed over the award to BRAC Bank’s Company Secretary Mohammad Mahbubur Rahman FCS and Financial Controller Mohammad Abdul Ohab Miah FCA at the award ceremony at Pan Pacific Sonargaon Hotel in Dhaka on Monday, according to a press release.

Sk Bashir Uddin, adviser to the Ministry of Commerce, was the chief guest. Md Habibur Rahman, deputy governor, Bangladesh Bank; Hossain Sadat FCS, president, ICSB, were present.

The ICSB Award is bestowed in recognition of organisations that demonstrate exemplary corporate governance practices. BRAC Bank’s distinction is underpinned by its strong performance indicators, including the highest market capitalisation among local banks, the largest share of international institutional investors, and the country’s highest credit rating.
