BRAC Bank has appointed Monzula Morshed as Deputy Managing Director and Chief Human Resources Officer, strengthening its leadership team as the lender advances its people-first strategy, the Dhaka-based lender said on Thursday.

Her appointment, effective from 1 February 2026, also makes her a member of the bank’s Management Committee, BRAC Bank said in a statement.

Morshed brings more than 25 years of experience as a people and organisational leader across sectors including telecommunications, manufacturing, banking and fast-moving consumer goods. She is recognised for driving strategic people agendas, overseeing large-scale organisational transformations and building future-ready capabilities in organisations she has served.

“Monzula’s appointment underscores our strategic intent to transform the bank as we aim to become the most trusted, innovative and inclusive bank,” said Tareq Refat Ullah Khan, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of BRAC Bank. “Her proven ability to align people strategy with business ambition will play a critical role as we continue to strengthen BRAC Bank as a purpose-driven, high-performing organisation,” he added.

Khan said Morshed’s experience, both locally and internationally, would support change management, talent development and the cultivation of a culture conducive to the bank’s growth plans.

Before joining BRAC Bank, Morshed was Lead Consultant at Second Mountain Consulting, advising organisations across multiple industries on strategic human capital priorities. She previously served as Chief Human Resources Officer at Banglalink Digital Communications Limited and Lafarge Surma Cement Limited, and held senior leadership positions at Standard Chartered Bank in Bangladesh and Thailand, and at British American Tobacco Bangladesh.

Morshed’s academic credentials include an MBA and a BBA from the Institute of Business Administration at the University of Dhaka, and executive leadership and advanced HR programmes at INSEAD, London Business School and the University of Oxford, the statement said.

Her appointment comes as Bangladeshi banks compete for talent and seek to strengthen governance and culture amid rapid digital and strategic change in the financial sector. Analysts say strong human capital leadership is increasingly vital for banks aiming to balance growth with employee engagement and organisational resilience.
