BRAC Seed and Agro Enterprise and bKash have organised digital literacy workshops in North Bengal to help farmers adopt cashless transactions and improve financial management.
bKash said on Sunday that the initiative aims to make agricultural production, marketing and daily financial transactions cashless, simple and secure, with a focus on promoting financial inclusion and enabling marginal farmers to use safe digital services.
Three awareness sessions were recently held in Dinajpur, Thakurgaon and Panchagarh with 875 farmers taking part.
The organisations said financial services remain limited in rural areas, where cash transactions involve risk and inconvenience, and farmers can now use bKash accounts to access essential services from home at any time.
The training covered opening a bKash wallet, setting up and protecting PINs, preventing fraud, and using the app and USSD codes for daily transactions. It also explained cash-out procedures and related costs at agent points.
Farmers received guidance on timely payment collection and financial planning to make money management easier.
The organisers said empowering farmers with digital transaction skills will strengthen their financial security and support the transformation of the agricultural sector into a modern, technology-driven industry.
They said the initiative is making digital payments more accessible in rural areas, bringing essential services to people’s doorsteps and easing daily life.
