The Integrity Unit, led by independent chair Alex Marshall, has stepped in following credible suspicions flagged through standard monitoring. That approach reflects prevention rather than punishment, a key distinction often lost in public noise.
BCB insists these actions follow ICC anti-corruption codes to the letter. The board also stresses that the process has not infringed on the rights of any player or franchise personnel.
The numbers back the strategy. Preventive work has reportedly slashed suspicious activity alerts by around 80 per cent, a figure that suggests deterrence works when applied early and consistently.
Several foreign players have spoken privately with integrity officials. These meetings focused on recruitment processes, contracts and payment structures, not accusations or charges.
That matters in a league where whispers travel faster than facts. Confidential checks protect the competition without dragging reputations through the mud.
BCB’s message feels deliberate and timely. After past turbulence around the league, the board now prioritises credibility over convenience.
