Police recovered a bomb-like object from Hothat Para area of Darshana municipality in Chuadanga’s Damurhuda upazila on Sunday night.
According to police and locals, pedestrians spotted the object wrapped in red tape in the middle of a road around 10pm.
Upon being informed, Darshana police reached the spot, recovered the object, and put it in a bucket of water.
Confirming the incident, Himel Rana, officer-in-charge (Investigation) of Darshana Police Station, said it is initially suspected that the object was placed there by unidentified individuals to trigger panic among the public.
