Police recovered the body of an elderly man, who had been missing for 50 days, from beneath the kitchen floor of his brother-in-law’s house in Sirajdikhan upazila of Munshiganj district early Wednesday.
The deceased was identified as Aolad Hossain, 60, of Chainpara village under Jainsar union.
Acting on information obtained during the investigation, police recovered the body buried about eight to 10 feet deep inside the kitchen of his brother-in-law, Khayer Bepari.
According to police, Aolad had been missing since 9 May. His brother filed a case with Sirajdikhan Police Station on 23 May after he disappeared.
Police have arrested four suspects in connection with the murder.
The arrestees are Manik Bepari ,40, Bin Amin ,36, Ripon ,30, and Saiful Islam ,38.
Sirajdikhan Police Station Officer-in-charge Md Alauddin said they are in custody and that the killing was primarily linked to disputes over money, gold ornaments and property.
