Police recovered the body of a man from a field in Eklashpur union of Begumganj upazila, Noakhali on Sunday morning.
The deceased was identified as Abul Hossain, 32.
Officer-in-charge (OC) Mohammad Shamsuzzaman of Begumganj Police Station confirmed the incident.
According to police and locals, residents spotted the body floating in water in a field near Mazar road in ward number 1 of the union near the victim’s residence.
The OC Shamsuzzaman said police reached the spot after receiving the information and recovered the body.
The body was being sent to the hospital for an autopsy, and legal proceedings are underway, he added.
