BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi has commented that although the ousted government only made lofty claims about development, essentially no development occurred in the education sector. He said, over 16 years, there was no educational environment.
This is why hooligans were created in educational institutions in the name of student politics. If there had been a genuine education system in the country, a Chhatra League leader could not have threatened to kill the chief adviser. He remarked that BNP will revamp education for future generations.
Ruhul Kabir Rizvi made these remarks while speaking as the chief guest at an event organised by “We Are BNP Family” at the BNP Chairman’s office in Gulshan on Sunday. The event was arranged to acknowledge the encouragement given by BNP’s acting chairman Tarique Rahman to the merit-based inspiration of the researcher team building the racing car at the Islamic University of Technology (IUT).
Among those who spoke at the event were the convener of “We Are BNP Family” Atiqur Rahman Rumon and many others.
At the event, on behalf of the BNP acting chairman, assistance was provided to the students involved in building the racing car at the Islamic University of Technology (IUT). During this time, the students presented various aspects of their project and outlined their future plans. Afterwards, the guests presented them with commemorative mementos.
Ruhul Kabir Rizvi said, “I believe if we could have built a structure in the education system where teachers had extensive training, they could have inspired students towards the pursuit of knowledge, even in the fields of science and literature. But in the past period, opportunities for training were not created; only showy work was done.”
