BNP has announced nationwide protest programmes on Saturday, including in Dhaka, demanding the immediate arrest of those involved in the shooting of independent Dhaka-8 candidate Sharif Osman Hadi.
The announcement came on Friday afternoon during BNP’s ‘Plan to rebuild the nation’ event at the Krishibid Institution, where Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi addressed party leaders and activists.
Rizvi described the attack as a deliberate act of conspiracy. “Osman Hadi was shot as part of a premeditated plot. We demand an immediate investigation and the swift arrest of those responsible,” he said.
He further urged all BNP units and affiliated organisations across the country to join the protests on Saturday to press for justice and ensure accountability for the perpetrators.
The move comes amid growing concerns over election-related violence as the 13th National Parliamentary Election approaches.
