The BNP has withdrawn the expulsion orders of six leaders in Narail who were removed from the party around seven months ago for violating party discipline, restoring their primary memberships with immediate effect.
The party’s central office announced the decision in six separate letters issued on 6 August and signed by BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Advocate Ruhul Kabir Rizvi.
Narail BNP President and Narail-1 lawmaker Biswas Jahangir Alam confirmed the development.
The six leaders are Md Telayet Hossain, former president of Narail Municipal BNP; Md Moshiar Rahman Santu, former general secretary of Lohagara Municipal BNP; Md Mujahidul Islam Palash, former general secretary of Sadar BNP; Md Ahaduzzaman Batu, former president of Lohagara BNP; Milu Sharif, former president of Lohagara Municipal BNP; and Kazi Sultanuzzaman Selim, general secretary of Lohagara BNP.
According to the letters, the six were expelled from all levels of the BNP, including their primary memberships, on 27 January over breaches of party discipline.
Their expulsions were later withdrawn following applications from the leaders and a decision by the party’s senior leadership.
