BNP does not allow anyone to exploit people to accumulate personal wealth, BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said while addressing an election rally in Thakurgaon.
“We have never made wealth from politics. We do politics by selling our inherited property, not by exploiting the people,” he said.
He made the remarks at a rally at Barunagao in Salandar Union under Thakurgaon Sadar upazila, where local BNP leaders and activists were present, with ward unit president Mofiz Uddin in the chair.
Fakhrul said the BNP had always stood with the people and that citizens felt safe with the party as it would not betray their trust.
“We want to work for the welfare of the people and form a government through elections so their voices are heard,” he said.
Outlining the party’s plans, he spoke of introducing Family Cards for mothers to strengthen household welfare and Agriculture Cards to help farmers access fertiliser and seeds at fair prices, alongside initiatives to improve healthcare, education and transport and create jobs for the unemployed.
He also highlighted what he described as BNP’s past contributions, including MPO recognition for educational institutions, construction of roads, bridges and culverts, the introduction of the Barendra Project in Thakurgaon and efforts to promote maize cultivation and poultry farming.
“BNP is a tested party; there is nothing new to know about us,” he said.
Seeking vote in the coming election Mirza Fakhrul said, “I am at an age where this will be my last election. If you vote for me, I will complete the unfinished work for you, Insh Allah.”
