Bangladesh Krishi Bank (BKB) held a discussion meeting and a doa mahfil at its head office on Monday to mark July Mass Uprising.
The programme paid tribute to those killed in July Mass Uprising and offered prayers for the departed souls of the victims and the recovery of those injured, according to a press release issued on Tuesday. A special doa and munajat also sought peace, prosperity and the country’s continued progress.
BKB Chairman Mohammed Nurul Amin attended the programme as the chief guest. He described July Mass Uprising a significant milestone in Bangladesh’s history and said the nation would remember the sacrifices of students and the people in the struggle for democracy, justice and people’s rights. He urged the bank’s officers and employees to uphold the spirit of July through honesty, transparency, accountability and professionalism.
Managing Director Sanchia Binte Ali presided over the programme. She said Bangladesh Krishi Bank has been working to provide modern, technology-driven and customer-oriented banking services for farmers, rural communities and people from all walks of life, inspired by the ideals of the July Mass Uprising. She urged officers and employees to improve customer service and accelerate the bank’s development activities through dedication, responsibility and teamwork.
Deputy Managing Director Mohd Khaleduzzaman was also present. General managers, executives from various departments, central leaders of the Bangladesh Krishi Bank Employees’ Union and other officials also attended the programme.
