Metro rail passengers can now top up their Rapid Pass and MRT Pass cards through bKash from anywhere, removing the hassle of standing in queues at stations or bank booths, the mobile financial service provider said on Wednesday.
The digital recharge option allows users to complete the entire process online and later update the balance at any station’s Add Value Machine. bKas said the feature aims to make metro travel more convenient while easing pressure on physical recharge counters.
Under the campaign, customers will receive a 5% cashback on metro card recharges until 31 December 2025. The offer is available once per day and up to two times during the campaign, with a maximum cashback of Tk100.
To recharge, passengers can tap the Metro Rail icon on the bKash app or log in to the Rapid Pass website or app. First-time users need to sign up and link their card by entering the card details. After choosing the recharge amount and selecting bKash as the payment method, the payment can be completed instantly.
Following online payment, passengers must tap their card on an Add Value Machine to sync the updated balance. An SMS confirmation will be sent after the update is successful. Users can recharge any amount between Tk100 and Tk5,000 in a single transaction, bKash said.
