Biman Bangladesh Airlines is set to resume direct flights between Dhaka and Narita, Japan, on Sunday night after a suspension of more than a year.
Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister Afroza Khanam will formally inaugurate the relaunched route at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at 11:45pm.
State Minister for Civil Aviation and Tourism M Rashiduzzaman Millat and other officials concerned will attend the ceremony. Biman officials said the resumption of the route would allow Japan-bound passengers to travel directly without transit stops.
They said the direct service would reduce travel time and make journeys more comfortable and convenient for passengers.
