Actor Bidya Sinha Mim has hinted at a return to television dramas, saying she is willing to take on a project if it offers a strong story, a sufficient budget and a large-scale production.
Speaking in a recent interview, the actor, who has remained focused on films and OTT projects in recent years, said the television drama industry has changed significantly.
“If I talk about returning to television dramas, I first need to talk about how dramas are being made today.
Honestly, the environment and scale are no longer what they used to be. The same kinds of stories are everywhere.
Everyone is chasing views and viral content. As a result, it is often difficult to maintain quality,” she said.
However, Mim ruled out nothing.
“I’m not saying ‘no’ completely. If a project comes with a good budget, a larger scale and everything is done properly, I may consider returning in the future,” she added.
Reflecting on her earlier years in television, Mim said the working environment was very different.
“Television dramas had a huge audience back then. Families would gather in front of the television every evening.
The way productions were made was completely different. Now everything happens much faster. Social media brings fame quickly, but it can disappear just as fast.
I feel fortunate that the love I received during that time has stayed with me,” she said.
Mim is currently receiving praise for her performance in Chorki’s web film Lifeline.
Earlier this year, she returned to the big screen after a four-year gap with the Eid release Malik.
During the interview, she also shared her views on the country’s film industry.
According to Mim, although film budgets have increased, the number of productions has declined, limiting opportunities for actors.
She also said many projects remain confined to a particular circle, adding that she has reached her current position through her own talent and hard work despite those challenges.
