The Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) has congratulated four prominent entrepreneurs from the country’s apparel sector who were elected as directors of the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) in the recently concluded BCB Board of Directors election.
The newly elected directors from the garment industry are Sakeef Ahmed Salam, Director of BGMEA and Managing Director of Fashion Watch Limited; Yari Mohammad Faisal Ashiq, Deputy Managing Director of Chaiti Group; Masuduzzaman, Managing Director of Model Group; and Israfil Khosru, Director (Operations) of Alpha Patterns (BD) Limited.
In a statement, BGMEA extended its warm congratulations to the four newly elected directors, as well as to all members of the newly constituted BCB Board.
BGMEA President Mahmud Hasan Khan described the election of the four apparel-sector entrepreneurs as a matter of great pride and satisfaction for the entire BGMEA family.
“This achievement is a testament to the leadership capabilities and credibility of entrepreneurs from Bangladesh’s garment industry,” he said. “Just as our entrepreneurs have played a vital role in strengthening Bangladesh’s position in the global economy, we believe they will also contribute significantly to the development of cricket in the country.”
He expressed optimism that the newly elected directors would utilize their extensive corporate experience, management expertise and passion for cricket to help elevate Bangladesh cricket to new heights in the international arena.
BGMEA First Vice-President Selim Rahman said that garment industry entrepreneurs have long contributed not only to the country’s economic growth and employment generation but also to the development of sports and social initiatives.
“Their success in the BCB election reflects the confidence that stakeholders have in their leadership, organizational capabilities and governance skills,” he said.
According to him, the experience, professional competence and commitment to corporate good governance demonstrated by the newly elected directors will help strengthen the institutional foundation of Bangladesh cricket.
He further expressed hope that their involvement in cricket administration would contribute to enhancing Bangladesh’s standing in the international cricket community.
BGMEA concluded its statement by wishing all newly elected BCB directors and members of the board good health, success and a productive tenure in advancing the development of cricket in Bangladesh.
