Border Guard Bangladesh has taken maximum preparedness measures to maintain law and order in Khagrachari ahead of the upcoming national election, Khagrachari BGB Sector Commander Colonel Abdul Mottakim said.
He made the remarks on Saturday while speaking at a blanket distribution programme for cold-hit people at Anupam Himangshu Field in Babura Para area of Logang Union under Panchhari Zone of 3 BGB.
Colonel Abdul Mottakim said the country is going through a critical period and the force remains fully prepared to ensure public order alongside border security.
He said BGB personnel have received adequate training ahead of the election and the process is ongoing, adding that sufficient manpower has been deployed at camps across the district.

He said enhanced surveillance is in place nationwide as part of efforts to maintain law and order and BGB has remained active in Khagrachari under that broader framework.
Special operations and patrols have been intensified along the district’s border areas, he said, adding that joint operations are being carried out in coordination with the army and police when required.
Colonel Abdul Mottakim said directives from the BGB headquarters are to remain on constant alert so that any situation can be handled swiftly and effectively.
