Four more suspected measles deaths were reported in the last 24 hours till Wednesday morning, taking the combined death toll from suspected and confirmed measles cases to 922, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
Of the total, 823 deaths are suspected measles-related deaths, while 99 have been confirmed as measles-related since 15 March.
Two of the latest suspected deaths occurred in Dhaka and two in other districts. No laboratory-confirmed measles death was reported during the period.
The outbreak also continued to register a high number of infections, with 931 suspected measles cases identified in the latest 24 hours. Of these, 87 were laboratory-confirmed.
Since 15 March, the country has reported 1,45,711 suspected measles cases and 18,076 laboratory-confirmed cases, DGHS data showed.
Of the suspected patients, 1,27,076 have been hospitalised and 1,22,805 have since been discharged.
Dhaka reported the highest number of suspected cases in the latest 24-hour period, with 339 patients.
Chattogram recorded 209 cases, followed by Barishal with 134 and Sylhet with 113.
In terms of cumulative suspected cases since 15 March, Dhaka division remains the worst affected, with 63,769 cases. Chattogram has reported 27,723 cases, while Barishal has recorded 15,883.
Meanwhile, the nationwide measles-rubella vaccination campaign has administered 19.47 million doses against a target of 18.02 million, achieving overall coverage of 108%, according to DGHS data.
Chattogram recorded the highest coverage among the eight divisions at 111.3 per cent, followed by Rangpur at 109.1 percent and Dhaka at 108.7 per cent.
All eight divisions have exceeded their respective vaccination targets.
At the city corporation level, 2.05 million doses have been administered against a target of 1.91 million, bringing overall coverage to 107.8 per cent.
Gazipur City Corporation recorded the highest coverage at 113.9 per cent, followed by Dhaka North City Corporation at 112.3 per cent and Chattogram City Corporation at 110.7 per cent.
