Actor and filmmaker Rasel Mia, who rose to prominence with the film Bhaiyare, has revealed that he has decided never to marry again.
Rasel said he has made a personal commitment to remain single for the rest of his life.
“I will never marry again. I am single now and will remain single until death. This is a promise I have made to myself,” he said.
Explaining his decision, Rasel said he had observed that while many people found happiness after their first marriage, those who went on to marry for a second or third time were often less happy.
“I have seen many people become happy after their first marriage. But I have rarely seen those who married for a second or third time remain happy. Seeing this has led me to decide that I will not marry again,” he said.
Rasel married social media influencer Barsha Chowdhury around two years ago.
However, their marriage did not last long and the couple eventually separated. He is currently living alone.
Rasel gained widespread attention with Bhaiyare, released in mid-2022. He directed and acted in the film.
During its promotional campaign, he attracted attention by driving a rickshaw and pushing a handcart to promote the movie.
His unconventional promotional tactics generated further discussion after the film’s release.
He faced criticism on social media for describing the film as a “sin-free movie” and suggesting that audiences could watch it after performing ablution. Several of his comments and videos subsequently went viral.
Rasel is currently working on a new film titled Patri Chai, in which he stars opposite actress Poly.
