Barishal City Corporation Administrator Advocate Bilkis Akter Jahan Shirin has said work is under way on a priority basis to address the city’s problems and turn it into a clean and well-organised urban centre.
She made the remarks at a greeting exchange meeting with journalists at the Barishal Press Club auditorium at 12:00pm on Wednesday.
She sought cooperation from journalists to support efforts to improve the city’s condition.
“There are thousands of problems in Barishal City Corporation, but we are working on a priority basis to resolve them,” she said.
She said the administration aims to transform the city from an unclean state into a clean one and confirmed that measures are already under way for mosquito control.
She also requested the opportunity to correct any mistakes during the process.
She assured support in resolving civic grievances and in the development of the Barishal Press Club.
The event was chaired by Barishal Press Club President Aminul Islam Khasru and moderated by General Secretary SM Zakir Hossain, with members of the press club present.
