Bangladesh Cricket Board on Sunday expressed deep sorrow at the death of Momtaz Begum, the mother of Bangladesh all-rounder Mahedi Hasan, who passed away in Khulna.
In an official condolence message, the board said it felt “deeply bereaved” by the loss and extended heartfelt sympathies to the family of the 31-year-old cricketer. The words carried the weight of a cricketing community that understands grief beyond runs and wickets.
Momtaz Begum’s namaz-e-janaza held on Sunday afternoon at the Khulna Divisional Stadium after Zuhr prayers.
