The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) is all set to host its election on June 7, according to the schedule announced on Saturday through a notification signed by Chief Election Commissioner Ahsanul Karim.
As part of the initial formalities, nomination papers will be available for sale on May 20 and 21. Interested candidates can collect the forms from the BCB office between 10:00 am and 4:00 pm on both days.
Following the scrutiny process, the Election Commission will publish the list of valid nominations on May 23. Objections against the provisional list will be accepted and heard the next day.
Candidates will then have the opportunity to withdraw their nominations on May 25 between 10:00 am and 2:00 pm, after which the final list of candidates will be announced at 2:00 pm.
Applications for postal ballots or e-ballots must also be submitted on May 25. Once the ballot distribution process is completed, the election for the positions of BCB directors, president, and vice-president will be held in the board room on June 7, with the results to be announced on the same day.
As in previous elections, a total of 23 directors will be elected from three categories. Ten directors will come from Category 1, representing district and divisional associations, while 12 directors will be elected from Category 2, representing clubs. One director will be elected from the former cricketers’ category.
