The Election Commission of the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has announced the final voter list for the forthcoming board of directors’ election, confirming 191 councillors. The polls are set to be held on 6 october.

Fifteen Dhaka clubs, previously excluded from the draft list over allegations of irregularities under investigation by the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC), have now been reinstated. Among them is Vikings Academy, represented by Ifthekhar Rahman Mithu.

Councillorships have also been approved for five districts—Sylhet, Bogura, Pabna, Sirajganj, and Naogaon. Narsingdi, however, remains vacant, as was the case in the draft list released on 23 september.

The three-member Election Commission, headed by Chief Election Commissioner Mohammad Hossain, finalised the list following a virtual meeting on 26 september. A day earlier, the commission had conducted hearings on 38 objections raised against the draft voter list at the BCB office.

Under the BCB constitution, the 25-member board of directors will be elected through three categories. District and divisional councillors (71 in total) will elect 10 directors—two each from Dhaka, Chattogram, and Khulna, and one each from Barishal, Sylhet, Rajshahi, and Rangpur. The club category, comprising 76 councillors, will elect 12 directors. The final category, consisting of 45 councillors from universities and organisations, will elect one director.

Once elected, the 25 directors will then vote to choose the BCB president.
