Hansi Flick has agreed a new contract with Barcelona that will run until 2028, with an option for an extra year. The club plan to complete the signing once they secure the La Liga title.
Flick’s current deal expires next June. Barcelona moved early to extend his stay after strong results since his arrival in 2024. Club president Joan Laporta pushed for a longer agreement, but Flick chose a shorter term.
Flick led Barcelona to a domestic treble in his first season. He won La Liga, the Copa del Rey and the Supercopa de España. The team also reached the Champions League semi-finals but lost to Inter Milan.
Barcelona have maintained that level this season. They have already secured the Spanish Super Cup and hold an 11-point lead at the top of La Liga with five matches left.
The title could arrive this weekend. Barcelona face Osasuna, while Real Madrid travel to Espanyol. A Barcelona win combined with a Madrid slip would confirm the title.
Barcelona will then host Real Madrid the following week at Camp Nou. The club expect to finalise Flick’s new deal once the title becomes official.
