Bank Asia PLC has doubled its authorised share capital to Tk3,000 crore from Tk1,500 crore, expanding its capacity to issue additional shares in the future.
The increase was disclosed to the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) on Tuesday following approval and certification by the Registrar of Joint Stock Companies and Firms.
With the revision, the bank’s authorised capital now consists of 300 crore ordinary shares with a face value of Tk10 each, compared with the previous 150 crore shares.
The bank has also amended Clause V of its Memorandum of Association and Article 6 of its Articles of Association to reflect the higher authorised capital.
The move does not represent an immediate share issuance, increase in paid-up capital or fresh capital raising. Instead, it increases the bank’s legal limit to issue shares if required in the future.
Bank Asia shares closed unchanged at Tk18 on Tuesday. The stock traded between Tk17.90 and Tk18.10 during the session.
The bank’s market capitalisation stood at Tk250.5 crore, while its free-float market capitalisation was Tk123.5 crore.
The stock has traded between Tk16.50 and Tk23.90 over the past 52 weeks.
