A Bangladeshi national was killed in a road accident in Riyadh while on his way to work on Saturday morning.
The deceased was identified as Md Jahangir, 27, of Bamunkhali village under Gafargaon upazila in Mymensingh. His father’s name is Asad Mia. He was the third among four brothers.
Jahangir had gone to Saudi Arabia about three years ago in search of livelihood.
Relatives, neighbours and friends have been left stunned by the tragedy. His parents, wife and children have been repeatedly fainting in shock.
His father Asad, in a tearful voice, said, “My son who went abroad to support the family will return as a corpse. How can I accept this?”
Locals and leaders of various social organisations have expressed sorrow and condolences over Jahangir’s death.
Family sources said efforts are underway, with the assistance of the Bangladesh Embassy in Saudi Arabia, to complete legal procedures and bring his body home quickly. Once repatriated, he will be buried in the family graveyard in Bamunkhali village.
