Bangladesh’s women’s football team returned home on Tuesday evening after a disappointing tour of Thailand, where they played two friendly matches as part of preparations for the upcoming AFC Championship main stage. The squad, coached by Butler, struggled throughout the tour and suffered heavy defeats in both games.
In the second friendly at Bangkok’s Chaloem Phra Kiat Sports Centre, Bangladesh trailed 3-1 at half-time. Although they briefly levelled the score in the second half, they conceded two further goals, eventually losing 5-1.
In the opening match, Bangladesh were defeated 3-0 by the hosts, trailing 1-0 at half-time and conceding two more goals in the second half.
